Sick
by Shel Silverstein
"I cannot go to school today,"
Said little Peggy Ann McKay.
"I have the measles and the mumps,
A gash, a rash and purple bumps.
My mouth is wet, my throat is dry,
I'm going blind in my right eye.
My tonsils are as big as rocks,
I've counted sixteen chicken pox
And there's one more--that's seventeen,
And don't you think my face looks green?
My leg is cut--my eyes are blue--
It might be instamatic flu.
I cough and sneeze and gasp and choke,
I'm sure that my left leg is broke--
My hip hurts when I move my chin,
My belly button's caving in,
My back is wrenched, my ankle's sprained,
My 'pendix pains each time it rains.
My nose is cold, my toes are numb.
I have a sliver in my thumb.
My neck is stiff, my voice is weak,
I hardly whisper when I speak.
My tongue is filling up my mouth,
I think my hair is falling out.
My elbow's bent, my spine ain't straight,
My temperature is one-o-eight.
My brain is shrunk, I cannot hear,
There is a hole inside my ear.
I have a hangnail, and my heart is--what?
What's that? What's that you say?
You say today is. . .Saturday?
G'bye, I'm going out to play!"

(How much did you love "Where the Sidewalk Ends" when you were growing up?)
I am getting really sick of the sickness around here. We're going on two solid weeks of somebody having something and I've had it! It started with Dallin, then came to me for about 5 miserable days, then to Brady, then Mallory and now back to Brady (although he was never fully over it, I just made him go to school anyway...bad mom.) I have been trapped in this house for days and days. All I want to do is go to Target. Is that too much to ask? Let's just say my Girl's Trip next week can't come soon enough.

Love Shel Silverstein...
Love one day sicknesses (an excuse to spend a day at home)...
Don't love what you're going through!
Hope everyone feels better soon.

Hope everyone gets better ASAP!
FYI: In fourth grade we had to memorize a poem and I picked that one, my teacher was very impressed :)
I'm so sorry you guys have been sick! We only had a week of it here and it was terrible. Caden got sent to the nurses office twice in one week and I wasn't available to pick him uo right away BOTH times they called. I'm sure they think very highly of me there.
