Mini Spring Break
Brady and I drove down to Salt Lake for the weekend, leaving Mark and the big kids to fend for themselves for a few days. (Who am I kidding? They have a lot more fun when it's just Dad at home.) The main reason for going was to be in the temple to see our great friends the Eastons sealed to their third child, Amelia. Aren't they just the most darling family? It was such a beautiful day and I was so glad I got to be there. Adoption is such a miracle and watching a sealing is like experiencing a little bit of heaven on earth.
Brady had so much fun reuniting with two of his best buds, Kelton and Davis. I also loved spending time with two of my favorite people, Kim and Emily. We had a mini girl's trip hosted my Kim's parents, and of course we stayed up way late, as always.
Sunday night we drove down and stayed with the Robertsons (sorry, no pics), who are always so kind to let us stay with them whenever we're in town. I got to enjoy Pei Wei and Chick-fil-a, two of my favorites that aren't in Boise. Monday I had my hair done by the lovely Lindsay, followed by dinner at Olive Garden with my siblings in Provo. (By the way, isn't Trevor's girlfriend Brynn gorgeous? She's got the personality to match that cute face and is willing to put up with Trevor. A definite keeper!) All in all, a great trip and a great getaway for Brady and I. Now we're busy keeping the kids occupied for the rest of spring break. If we could only get some more springlike weather to enjoy it in!

Our little turkey trying to get a turkey
Another thing we never could have done in Phoenix
Since the wind was minimal today (a rare thing lately) we decided to have a little bonfire on the empty lot next to ours. We had a lot of branches, cardboard and some wood that we needed to get rid of so we just piled it up and set it ablaze. Environmental impact? Who cares! Ahh, country living at it's finest. (Plus I didn't have to fix lunch, we just roasted hot dogs!)

The hotel is still open for business
We got to have more visitors this weekend... hooray! I love living only a few hours from Utah so I can see my brother and sisters in Provo more often. This time is was Lindsay, my youngest sister, and her husband Brandon. They came up to see Brandon's family at the State H.S. Basketball Tournament (at which Mark's alma mater Shelley High won! Go Russets!) We had a great time with them and as a bonus I got two free boy's haircuts (love that Lindsay's in cosmetology school!) Thanks for coming guys!
Strike a Pose
I had to follow up my last post to show you what happens to cute first graders in a few short years. This is Kenzie in her modeling debut at our Young Women's Beautifully Modest Fashion Show. Can you see the attitude in that first pic? That's 'cause she was mad at me for forcing her to wear make-up. OK, so maybe she's not growing up too fast (and that's a good thing!).

Warning for all first-grade moms
The time between the first day of first grade and the first day of high school will go by extraordinarily fast. Freshman orientation is tonight...how is that possible? (And remember when Kenzie used to let me dress her in pink and fix her hair? That time went by too quickly also.)
